What is a Fire monitor?

The fire monitor is a fire extinguishing equipment that uses water as the medium to extinguish fires from a long distance. The monitor is suitable for petrochemical enterprises, storage tank areas, hangars, warehouses, ports, garages, and other places, and it is an ideal vehicle-mounted fire monitor for fire trucks.

Classification and characteristics of fire monitor

Fire monitors are divided into automatic scanning high-altitude water monitors, fixed manual fire monitors, automatic fire monitors, and electronically controlled fire monitors.

Features: large flow, long range, high fire extinguishing efficiency.

Components of a fire monitor

1. Water supply system

It is mainly composed of a water source, fire water pump, high-level water tank or air pressure stabilizing device, water pump adapter, and pipeline, and its purpose is to provide a fast and sufficient water source for the device.

2. Execution system

It is composed of a fire extinguishing device, power supply device, automatic fire alarm device, and other intermediate execution devices, that is, the relevant components that execute fire extinguishing and alarm actions when a fire occurs.

3. Control system

It is composed of a linkage control cabinet and regional control box, a system power controller, and a computer fire (video) monitoring system. Its purpose is to control the water supply system and execution system, and can flexibly realize various operations of manual, automatic, on-site, and fire-fighting centers. Effectively complete a series of actions from discovering fires to extinguishing fires. And the automatic tracking and positioning jet fire extinguishing system can be directly connected with the automatic fire alarm center through the input module and the input and output module, to ensure the integrity of the fire alarm system.

The structure of the fire monitors

The fire monitor consists of a fire monitor body and an on-site controller. It combines micro-control technology, infrared sensor detection technology, mechanical rotation control technology, and image transmission technology to automatically find the fire point and accurately locate the fire source, and effectively and quickly extinguish the fire source; Protect personal and property safety; have on-site manual operation control and image display functions; can be forced to start to detect fire sources according to the linkage signals of other fire alarm systems; use infrared dual-band detection technology to effectively detect fire sources and improve environmental interference resistance ability; and ground sensitivity parameter setting and debugging.

Performance characteristics of fire monitors

1. With a large flow rate and long range, it is faster to extinguish early fires;

2. The rotating mechanism has a clutch function to effectively protect the motor;

3. Equipped with electrically operated columnar/mist nozzles;

4. Dual-band detection effectively improves the anti-interference ability;

5. With on-site manual control function;

6. It has the function of image transmission on-site screen;

7. It has a linkage function with other fire alarm systems;

8. The on-site ground sensitivity parameter setting is convenient for debugging;

9. It can be controlled from a long distance, up to 1200 meters;

10. Light weight, compact structure, easy maintenance.

Maintenance of fire monitors

1. The monitors should be used within the working pressure range.

2. The integrity and operational flexibility of the monitors should be checked frequently. If the fastener is found to be loose, it should be repaired in time to keep the monitors in good condition.

3. When spraying water, loosen the locking screw, adjust the spraying direction and angle of the monitor, and then increase the pressure to the used pressure.

4. Rotating the jet adjustment ring can realize the transformation of the tributary flow of water into flowering or the transformation of flowering into direct current.

5. After each use, spray clean water for some time, and then drain the water in the monitors.

6. Lubricants should be added to the rotating parts of the monitors frequently to ensure flexible rotation.

7. When spraying, no one can stand in front of the muzzle.

8. monitors cannot be used to extinguish live equipment to avoid electric shock.

9. In the non-working state, the monitors should be placed in a horizontal state and covered with a rainproof cloth.
