What is foam fire hydrant?

Foam fire hydrant is a foam extinguishing system, which its installation on the foam solution pipeline. It will provide foam solution related to foam extinguishing equipment. The outlet pipe connects to two fire connectors and a ball valve. So that it provides foam solution for the fire hose. If water and foam fire monitors are used at the same time, fire hoses connected to the two outlet pipes will work well; When you use one outlet pipe to extinguish the fire, you can turn off the other one. In this way, it will prevent leakage.

Why use foam hydrant?

1. The use of water for flammable liquids presents many challenges. Compared with water, foam application has significant advantages in terms of fire extinguishing time. And also steam seals the danger.
2. The foam stays on top of the liquid. At the same time, oxygen is removed from flammable vapor by establishing physical isolation or barrier. So this is the way to asphyxiate fire. Foam also removes heat from the liquid and surrounding surfaces.
3. In some cases involving ordinary combustibles, water needs to penetrate deeper to completely extinguish the fire. This is the only way to prevent re-ignition. This is the application of Class A foam. One of the characteristics of Grade A foam is below: It reduces the surface tension of the water mixed with it, making it penetrate into the fuel more deeply.
4. When the water is invalid during the fire-fighting, firefighters can use foam to put out the fire safely and effectively.
