Butterfly Valve

The butterfly valve is a quarter turn valve, which uses the disc to rotate 90 ° to control the flow. The disc remains in the fluid path when open, but the pressure drop is relative issue. Except for high-performance butterfly valves, all butterfly valves use elastomer lined seats to obtain a tight seal, which has a longer durability. Additionally, it has other advantages, which can extend the service life to more longer period.

Butterfly valves isolate or regulate the flow of fluid through the piping system. Although they can be used with liquid, gas or even semi-solid, the butterfly valve used for fire protection. As a control valve, it is to open or close the water flow to the pipeline of the fire sprinkler or riser system.

Advantages of butterfly valves firefighting

1. Thickeningof the body – It is compressive strength, durable, safe and secure.
2. Simplified operation – The operation is simple, convenient and quick efficient work.
3. Optimizing material – It is fine material with acid corrosion, and long service life.
4. Firm connection – The connection is tight and not easy to loosen.

How butterfly valves work?

The fire butterfly valve can start, stop or throttle the water flow through the rotation of the internal valve disc. When the disc rotates parallel to the water flow, the water can pass freely. Rotate the valve disc 90 degrees, and the movement of water entering the system pipeline stops. The thin disc can stay in the path of water all the time. Meanwhile, it’s without significantly slowing down the movement of water through the valve.
